CCSDK by Lenovo

CCSDK (often referred to as the Customer Care SDK) is a Lenovo background component installed on some Lenovo Windows PCs. It supports Lenovo’s companion and support applications by enabling model-specific identification, system profiling, diagnostics, and delivery of notifications such as driver updates, tips, warranty reminders, and occasional promotions. You may see it running as a service or scheduled task (for example, CCSDK or CCSDKAgent).

Key points:

• Purpose: Provides support functions for Lenovo apps (e.g., delivering updates, messages, and device-specific content).
• Behavior: Operates in the background; may contact Lenovo services to retrieve configuration data and notifications.
• Privacy: May collect device health and usage diagnostics to improve support features, depending on your privacy settings.
• Necessity: Not required for Windows itself. Removing it generally only affects Lenovo-specific notifications and features.
• Security and maintenance: Older versions were associated with unwanted promotional pop-ups and received security advisories; Lenovo has issued updates and guidance. Keep Lenovo software current or remove components you don’t use.

Management:

• You can typically uninstall CCSDK via Windows Settings > Apps (Apps & Features). On newer systems, Lenovo Vantage may replace or supersede older components.
